U.S. President Donald Trump, responding to reports that Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, Iran's supreme leader, was killed in a U.S.-Israel strike on Iran, said, "We think that's the right story."
On Feb. 28 (local time), in an interview with NBC News, President Trump stated accordingly when asked about the reports of the Iranian supreme leader's death.
In an interview with ABC News, when asked whether he believes members of Iran's leadership were killed, Trump said, "Many in the leadership, yes," adding, "But we don't know everything."
On a question about the makeup of Iran's next leadership, he emphasized, "We have a very good plan."
In addition, a U.S. government official told Fox News that they believe Khamenei and 5–10 members of Iran's leadership were killed.
