The United States has revealed the name of its military operation against Iran as "Operation Epic Fury." President Trump said, "We can no longer tolerate this," putting the destruction of Iran's nuclear and missile capabilities front and center.
The Ministry of National Defense (War Department) said on the 28th (local time) that it has named the military operation against Iran "Operation Epic Fury."
The Ministry of National Defense announced the operation name on Truth Social the same day. However, the post did not include details of the attack.
President Donald Trump said in an eight-minute video posted on Truth Social that "we just began major combat inside Iran," adding, "Our goal is to protect the American people by eliminating Iran's imminent threats."
Trump said that even after the U.S. military struck Iran's nuclear facilities in June last year, Iran tried to rebuild its nuclear program and recently rejected an agreement in nuclear talks, adding, "We can no longer tolerate this."
He then set the destruction of Iran's missiles and related industries, and its navy, as key objectives of the operation, saying, "We will ensure Iran never acquires nuclear weapons."
