The ex-husband of Jill Biden, the wife of former U.S. President Joe Biden, has been indicted on a charge of killing his wife.
The Associated Press said on the 3rd that William Stevenson, who was married to Jill in the 1970s, is suspected of killing his wife Linda at their home in Wilmington, Delaware, on Dec. 28 last year. Police responded to a domestic dispute call that day and found Linda unconscious and collapsed in the living room, according to reports.
After an investigation, authorities arrested Stevenson on the 2nd on a first-degree murder charge. His bail was set at $500,000 (about 720 million won), but he has not posted it and remains in custody.
Jill said she would not issue a separate statement regarding her ex-husband's indictment.
Stevenson and Jill were married from 1970 to 1975, and Jill remarried Biden, then a U.S. senator from Delaware, in 1977. Jill then served as first lady at the White House for four years starting in 2021.
