U.S. President Donald Trump on the 21st (local time) said at the World Economic Forum (WEF, Davos Forum) in Davos, Switzerland, that he and Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy are "at a point where we can reach an agreement."
After his special address, Trump said in a following talk about stalled peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, "I know they are not foolish."
He added, "Often, when we reach an agreement with Russia, President Zelenskyy does not accept it," and "At other times, President Zelenskyy wants an agreement, but Putin does not."
He said, "This is a difficult balancing act and a very grave issue," adding, "What is happening now is, in a word, a 'sea of blood,' and it is horrific. Thousands are dying every week in drone warfare. It must stop."
Trump also said he was scheduled to meet President Zelenskyy later in the day at the event.
