U.S. President Donald Trump on the 22nd (local time) urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to agree to a cease-fire plan, saying, "The war must end."
According to AFP and Reuters, President Trump stated accordingly after meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for about an hour at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on this day.
President Zelenskyy said, "The talks were productive and substantive," adding, "The United States and the cease-fire plan documents are well prepared." He also said, "From the 23rd for two days in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), officials from the United States, Russia, and Ukraine will meet to continue discussions on the cease-fire plan."
U.S. presidential envoy Steve Witkoff will meet Russian President Putin in Russia on this day to discuss the cease-fire plan. Envoy Witkoff emphasized that agreement on the cease-fire plan is not far off, saying, "We have made much progress and are now in the final stretch."
