The Netflix animated film K-pop Demon Hunters (Kedehun), produced by Korean American director Maggie Kang, won two awards at the U.S. Golden Globe Awards. Kedehun took home the award in the feature animation category right after winning best original song.
On the 11th (local time), at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles (LA), Kedehun won in the feature animation category.
In this category, Kedehun competed against Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Arc, Zootopia 2, Little Amelie, Arco, and Elio.
Earlier, the Kedehun soundtrack "Golden" won best original song (Best Original Song–Motion Picture).
The competitors included ▲ "Avatar: Fire and Ash" ▲ "Sinners" ▲ "Wicked: For Good" ▲ "Train Dreams," among others.
Lee Jae, the singer and songwriter of "Golden," said in an acceptance speech, "I worked nonstop for 10 years to achieve the single dream of being an 'idol,' but I was rejected and disappointed because my voice was deemed not enough," and added, "To overcome the pain, I leaned on singing and music, and now I stand here as a singer and songwriter."
Lee continued, "I became part of a song that helps other girls and boys, and everyone, overcome hardship and accept themselves," and said, "A dream has become reality."
