Korean American director Maggie Kang's "K-pop Demon Hunters" won two awards at the prestigious Critics Choice Awards organized by a North American critics group.
On the 4th (local time) at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, at the 31st Critics Choice Awards, it won best animated feature, beating competitors "Zootopia 2," "Elio," "In Your Dream," and "Arco."
It also took home best song for the soundtrack "Golden." "Golden" previously topped the U.S. Billboard main singles chart Hot 100 for a nonconsecutive eight weeks.
The awards are organized by the Critics Choice Association (CCA), which includes about 600 North American broadcast and film critics and journalists, and every year at the beginning of the year it honors outstanding works and actors in film and TV.
With "K-de-hun" taking two trophies at the Critics Choice Awards, attention is turning to the remaining ceremonies. "Golden" was nominated in five categories, including the top prize song of the year, at the 68th Grammy Awards scheduled for next month, and is also on the shortlist for best original song at the 98th Academy Awards in March.
