Three people were killed and three were injured in a suffocation accident at a pharmaceutical company in Jiangxi province in eastern China.
According to the Jinxi County Emergency Management Bureau in Jiangxi on the 2nd, at about 10:25 p.m. on the 31st, a suffocation accident occurred at Jiangxi Longlai Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd. in Jinxi County.
Three people died at the scene, and three others were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Authorities said they activated an emergency response system immediately after the incident, initiating follow-up measures including securing the site, rescuing the injured, and supporting bereaved families. An investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
Local Chinese media are citing possible causes such as a defect in the oxygen supply system or a toxic gas leak.
