Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky said peace talks with the United States in Florida were constructive and said further consultations with Europe are needed.
According to Bloomberg and other foreign media, on the 21st (local time) Zelensky said on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), "Our team in Florida is working with the United States," and said, "These talks are constructive and important." However, he did not disclose specifics of the talks' progress.
Zelensky, noting that he spoke by phone with Norway Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store after the talks with the United States, said, "There is a consensus that we need to hold consultations with European partners."
Separately, Zelensky claimed that Russia attacked Ukraine last week using 1,300 drones, 1,200 glide bombs, and nine missiles.
Earlier, on the 19th in Miami, Florida, the Ukrainian negotiating team discussed U.S. mediation plans for ending the war with Steve Witkoff, the U.S. President's envoy for Donald Trump, and Jared Kushner, Trump's eldest son-in-law. The United States is also meeting with the Russian delegation of Russia President Vladimir Putin's envoy, Kirill Dmitriev, to discuss ending the war.
