Jake Paul, 27, of the United States, who was knocked down in an exhibition against former world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua, 35, of Britain, suffered two fractures in his jaw and will have to eat only liquid food for a week.
On the 21st, Paul posted a photo of himself lying in a hospital room along with an X-ray of his jaw on social media (NS).
Along with the photos, he said, "Two places in my jaw are fractured," and wrote, "The pain is severe and my body is stiff." He added, "Have me fight Canelo (Álvarez) in 10 days."
He replied with a joking post after some fans left messages worrying about his health. Still, Paul is said to have to eat only liquid food for seven days.
Earlier, on the 20th, Paul faced Joshua in a bout at Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.
The fight was one-sided. Joshua pressured Paul throughout, and Paul went down four times. In the sixth round, Paul took a punch from Joshua on the jaw and lost by KO.
From the start, the difference in weight class and skill was clear before the bout. At the weigh-in, Paul was 98 kg and Joshua was 110 kg. The weight difference alone was 12 kg. On top of that, Joshua is an "elite boxer" who twice became the unified heavyweight champion.
