China's box office revenue this year has surpassed 50 billion yuan (about 10.4731 trillion won).
According to statistics from the China Film Administration at 2:30 p.m. on the 13th (local time), China's box office revenue this year was tallied at 50.003 billion yuan. The number of moviegoers was 1.194 billion.
Chinese films had a market share of 81.9%, with box office revenue of 40.952 billion yuan. Fifty films topped 100 million yuan in box office revenue, including 33 Chinese films and 17 foreign films.
No. 1 at the box office was the fantasy animation "Ne Zha 2: Demon Child Reborn," adapted from the Chinese classic novel "Fengshen Yanyi." The film earned 15.446 billion yuan in box office revenue, surpassing the all-time China box office record set by "The Battle at Lake Changjin" in 2021 (5.775 billion yuan).
Among foreign films, Disney's animated "Zootopia 2" ranked third with 3.05 billion yuan, making the top five.
