Hong Kong actor Chow Yun-fat visited the K-pop awards show MAMA Awards to mourn the victims of the Hong Kong fire disaster.
According to the entertainment industry on the 1st, Chow Yun-fat attended the 2025 MAMA Awards at Hong Kong Kai Tak Stadium on the afternoon of the 29th and said, "With a heart to mourn the victims of the Hong Kong fire disaster, I ask everyone to stand and observe a moment of silence."
He was on stage to announce the winner of artist of the year, one of the top honors at the 2025 MAMA Awards. He wore a black suit and dark-toned glasses, and soon all the lights in the venue were turned off.
This followed a major fire on the 26th at a residential high-rise apartment complex in Hong Kong, where seven of the eight buildings in a complex of about 2,000 households caught fire, and it was brought under control after about 43 hours amid adverse conditions such as dry weather and strong winds.
The 2025 MAMA Awards, held at Hong Kong Kai Tak Stadium on the 28th and 29th, reportedly debated whether to proceed after the high-rise apartment fire in Hong Kong left many dead and injured. In the end, the glamorous K-pop festival was held in a mood of mourning.
