U.S. President Donald Trump released photos showing the White House's "Lincoln bathroom" remodeled with glossy marble and gold-colored faucets.
Trump said on the afternoon of Jan. 31 (local time) on his social media Truth Social, "We renovated the Lincoln bathroom at the White House," posting 24 photos.
In the photos Trump posted, the toilet, sink, shower, and bathtub appear to be made mainly of glossy marble. Handles, hinges, showerheads, and faucets are made of gold-colored materials.
Trump said, "This bathroom was renovated in the 1940s with Art Deco-style green tiles, which is not at all appropriate for the Lincoln era. I did it in polished black and white Statuario marble."
According to a White House communications official, the money needed for remodeling the White House ballroom and bathroom is being raised privately, and the expense burden will not be passed on to taxpayers.
