After U.S. President Donald Trump received a model of the Silla gold crown from President Lee Jae-myung and appeared pleased, an artificial intelligence (AI) video of Trump wearing the crown and dancing has been spreading online.
On the 31st, on X (formerly Twitter) and other online platforms, a video of Trump wearing the gold crown and dancing with first lady Melania has been spreading like a "meme." A meme refers to an element containing satire and humor that circulates on the internet and social media.
In the AI-produced video, Trump and first lady Melania hold hands and dance under dazzling lights, smiling as if enjoying themselves. People around them wearing red hats look on and applaud.
Earlier, on the 29th, at the official state welcome ceremony held at the Gyeongju National Museum in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang, President Lee presented President Trump with the Grand Order of Mugunghwa and gifted a model of a Silla gold crown.
U.S. media outlets in particular focused on the crown gift, linking it to the "No Kings" protests underway in Washington, the U.S. capital, and in about 50 states. The protests condemn Trump's authoritarian governing style.
The Washington Post (WP) reported, "The gold crown is a replica of an artifact from the Silla kingdom, which ruled most of the Korean Peninsula until the 10th century and made Gyeongju its capital, and a crown symbolizing royal authority was delivered at a time when 'No Kings' protests are in full swing across the United States." The New York Post also reported, "President Trump received a crown 11 days after Democratic Party-led anti-authoritarian protests."
Britain's the Mirror cited body language expert Judi James in analyzing Trump's psychology immediately after receiving the crown. James said, "President Trump could not take his eyes off the crown right after receiving it and wore an expression as if he were in a state of euphoria," adding, "The way he gazed, as if spellbound, suggests a state of imagining the future."
Trump is said to have ordered that the Grand Order of Mugunghwa and the crown be loaded onto the presidential jet Air Force One.
