The eldest and second sons of U.S. President Donald Trump appeared at a large-scale blockchain event in Seoul and praised the potential of the Korean market. They lauded virtual assets as a means of "financial democratization."
Eric Trump, the president's second son, sent a video greeting to the main conference "IMPACT" at Korea Blockchain Week (KBW 2025), held on the 23rd at the Walkerhill Hotel in Seoul. He said, "Korea is leading all of Asia in cryptocurrency," adding, "At this pace, Korea will establish itself as a firm leader in Asia's blockchain industry, on par with the United States." Eric Trump said, "Koreans are more interested in and proactive about cryptocurrency than people in other Asian countries," noting, "The legal and institutional foundations are also being put in place quickly."
Donald Trump Jr., the president's eldest son, also joined by video the session "The future of American Bitcoin mining." He said, "The potential of Korea's virtual asset sector is absolutely spectacular."
Trump Jr. reiterated that virtual assets are an important opportunity for "financial democratization." He shared his experience, saying, "I was once completely cut off from the banking system in an instant for not aligning with political power." He said, "If we can be cut off, anyone can," adding, "There is a real opportunity for financial democratization in virtual assets for people who were marginalized under the pyramid system."
He strongly criticized the existing financial system. He said, "Traditional finance is broken in many ways," adding, "Bitcoin will bring prosperity to people who have been bled dry by banks." He also pointed out, "Just a few months ago, large banks were calling Bitcoin a scam, but now they are buying tens of billions of dollars' worth."
The Trump brothers are entrepreneurs who have jumped directly into the virtual asset industry. Trump Jr. is the co-founder of the Bitcoin mining company American Bitcoin. He said, "Through American Bitcoin, we aim to confirm U.S. leadership in Bitcoin infrastructure and secure leadership in the next wave of financial innovation."
The two are also co-founders of the digital finance corporations World Liberty Financial (WLF). Eric Trump said, "World Liberty Financial has established itself as a global powerhouse in stablecoins and decentralized finance (DeFi)." The company's token is listed on major domestic and overseas exchanges.
Mike Ho, chair of the board at American Bitcoin, who joined the session with Trump Jr., said, "Korea is an amazing market," adding, "The new administration is very progressive." He added, "Every Korean really likes virtual asset transactions. The retail transaction flow is astonishing."
