The Kremlin announced on the 3rd (local time) that Russian President Vladimir Putin and National Assembly Speaker Woo Wan-sik did not hold a separate meeting after the 80th anniversary ceremony of China's victory day.
According to the state-run TASS news agency, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov noted during a briefing that there was no meeting between President Putin and Speaker Woo, stating, "They exchanged handshakes and brief greetings, but there was no separate meeting."
Speaker Woo met with President Putin at a reception lunch held during the victory day ceremony in Beijing. Woo requested that President Putin pay attention to the 130 corporations from our country operating in Russia.
President Putin expressed particular interest in inter-Korean relations and issues on the Korean Peninsula to Speaker Woo, and asked how he views inter-Korean relations and what message would be good to convey to Chairperson Kim Jong-un during a North-Russian summit meeting.
Meanwhile, President Putin held a bilateral meeting separately with North Korean Chairperson Kim Jong-un, who visited China to attend the victory day parade on the same day.
