The three children of French actor Alain Delon, known as 'the man of the century,' are reportedly in a dispute over their father's estate. The youngest son has filed a lawsuit regarding a will that was drafted in favor of Alain Delon's stepdaughter.
On the 2nd, according to AFP and Le Monde, Alain Delon's youngest son, Alain Fabian (31), has filed a lawsuit in a Paris court declaring that his father's will, written in November 2022 in Geneva, Switzerland, is invalid.
Alain Delon passed away at the age of 88 on August 18 last year. His funeral was held on August 24 of the same year, and at his request, he was buried in the underground ossuary of the Saint-Bruno Church. Alain Delon's estate is estimated to be around 50 million euros (approximately 81.2 billion won), which includes a mansion in Doshi, an apartment in Paris, and properties in Geneva, Switzerland.
In his first will written in 2015, Alain Delon allocated 50% of his estate to his stepdaughter Anouchka and the remaining 50% to be divided equally between his eldest son Anthony and youngest son Fabian. The second will, signed in November 2022, includes provisions transferring 51% of the equity of the company managing Alain Delon's moral rights and his name and trademark to Anouchka.
Fabian's side asserts, "The will was drafted while our father was in a state of impaired judgment after suffering a stroke in 2019. We only became aware of the will's existence after his death," claiming it to be invalid. They also raise concerns about the secret drafting and storage of the 2022 will and allegations of manipulation and concealment of medical information are deepening family conflicts.
In France, inheritance tax rates of up to 45% are applied to amounts exceeding 1.8 million euros. Consequently, the potential for asset sales following the resolution of the inheritance dispute has been raised. The annual maintenance cost of the Doshi mansion is reported to be about 300 million won.
