A dog owner who tattooed a dragon all over their pet's body is facing backlash from internet users, according to a report by South China Morning Post (SCMP) on the 27th.
According to the report, on Aug. 22, at a pet expo in Shanghai, a dog owner brought a hairless dog that had a dragon tattooed all over its body. The dog is believed to be a hairless breed from Mexico.
The dog was also wearing a thick gold necklace and a wristwatch.
The owner stated, "I tattooed it without anesthesia." He added, "I thought it would look even cooler since the dog is like my child."
Upon hearing this news, internet users in China expressed their outrage, calling it "animal abuse." One internet user claimed, "Even with anesthesia, it would hurt. The owner exploited the fact that the dog cannot speak."
Another internet user criticized the owner, saying, "Try tattooing a dragon on your body without anesthesia."
As complaints from online users surged, the event organizers prohibited the problematic dog and its owner from entering the venue, reported SCMP.
