In the UK, a male police officer was caught stealing a woman's underwear during a home search and received a prison sentence.
According to the Daily Mail on the 19th (local time), Marcin Zelinski, 27, of the Hertfordshire police, was sentenced to four months in prison for stealing underwear while searching a woman's home on Sept. 12 last year.
The security camera installed in the woman's house captured Zelinski's crime. In the footage, Zelinski looked around, opened a drawer, took out the underwear, and put it in his back pocket. He then left the room as if nothing had happened.
He was searching the home after arresting a woman at the time. This woman was later released without charges.
The deputy chief of the Korean National Police Agency said, "Zelinski has disappointed not only the residents of Hertfordshire but also his fellow police officers and the entire police force in the UK," adding, "His criminal acts have fundamentally betrayed the values that police services are supposed to uphold and the trust of the public."
Zelinski admitted to all charges, including theft and abuse of police authority, in court.
