A warning has been issued that counterfeit products of the character doll 'Labbubu' from the Chinese toy corporation Pop Mart, which has gained global popularity, pose a threat to children's health.
On the 18th (local time), CBS News reported that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued an urgent warning that 'fake Labbubu plush dolls can pose a choking and death risk to young children.'
The CPSC explained that the fake Labbubu sold in the form of small plush dolls or small keychains could block children's airways if they are put in their mouths. Some counterfeit dolls are known to be poorly made and can easily break into small pieces.

In response, the CPSC warned consumers not to purchase these counterfeit products and to stop using them immediately.
Peter Feldman, acting Chairperson of the CPSC, emphasized that 'these fake Labbubu dolls are dangerous and illegal and should never be used in American households.' He urged, 'No parent should have to worry that a toy could interfere with their child's breathing,' and encouraged purchasing only from reputable sellers.
The CPSC stated that genuine Pop Mart Labbubu dolls have a hologram sticker and a QR code that connects to the official Pop Mart site. It also recommended checking that the number of teeth on the Labbubu doll is 9.
