Russian President Vladimir Putin evaluated his summit with U.S. President Donald Trump on the 16th (local time) as 'timely and very useful.'
According to the TASS news agency, President Putin expressed a positive stance on the summit during a leadership meeting with the presidential office, government, and parliament at the Kremlin. He said, 'I would like to immediately mention that this visit was timely and very useful.'
President Putin noted, 'We respect the U.S. government's position that hostile actions should of course be quickly concluded,' adding, 'We also want this and hope to resolve all issues peacefully.' He also explained that he discussed ways to end the Ukraine conflict on a fair basis with President Trump.
President Putin held a summit lasting about three hours with President Trump the day before in Alaska. The two leaders assessed that the meeting was positive during a press conference, but stated that no ceasefire agreement for Ukraine was reached.
