U.S. President Donald Trump said there are "significant developments" with Russia and asked to "watch closely."
On the 17th (local time), President Trump posted a message on his social media service (SNS) Truth Social regarding the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin that took place on the 15th in Alaska. However, President Trump did not mention any specific details related to this summit.
In another post, President Trump expressed his views on the media's coverage of the summit, stating, "Fake news always distorts the truth about me. Whatever I say or do, they do not report accurately."
He added, "I had a great meeting with President Putin in Alaska regarding the foolish war initiated by Biden (former president) that should never have happened."
It seems he was responding to criticism from the domestic media regarding the lack of concrete outcomes from the meeting with President Putin in Alaska on the 15th to end the war in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, President Trump is scheduled to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders at the White House on the 18th.
