On the 10th (local time), Ukraine announced that it had attacked a refinery facility on Russian mainland with drones.
According to Bloomberg and AFP, the Ukrainian military issued a statement that day, stating it had successfully carried out a drone attack on a refinery in Saratov Oblast, Russia, resulting in explosions and fires.
Russia also acknowledged this. Roman Busargin, the governor of Saratov Oblast, said on his social media (SNS) that "three apartments were damaged overnight due to Ukraine's drone attack and residents were evacuated," adding, "one person was transferred to the hospital but died." However, according to Reuters, the governor did not mention which industrial facilities were affected.
As a result of this attack, it is reported that flight operations in Saratov were suspended for about two hours in the early morning.
The Ministry of National Defense stated that it shot down eight Ukrainian drones over Saratov region overnight and 121 nationwide. However, the number of drones launched by Ukraine was not disclosed.
Recently, Ukraine has continued drone attacks on military targets and industrial and energy facilities within Russia. The day before, it was reported that three people had died and two were injured due to a Ukrainian drone attack in the Borisov region of Belgorod, Russia.
