Major League Soccer (MLS) Los Angeles FC (LAFC) officially announced the signing of Son Heung-min.
On the 6th (local time), LAFC stated on its website that Son Heung-min is set to occupy a spot on the 'international player roster' and noted, "He will be eligible to play as soon as he receives his P-1 visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC)."
Bennett Rosensole, co-owner of LAFC, said, "Bringing Son (Son Heung-min's nickname) to LAFC and our city has been a dream of ours for years" and added, "My partners and I have immense respect for Son as both a 'player' and a 'person.'"
Earlier, Tottenham displayed a message on its homepage with the title, "Son has left for MLS's LAFC." Tottenham commented, "The 33-year-old Son has established himself as one of the greatest players in the club's history since joining in August 2015, a decade ago," and stated, "He scored 173 goals in 454 games, setting the fifth-highest record in our history."
It continued, "His biggest achievement was leading the club to victory in the UEFA Europa League in May 2025 in Bilbao, Spain," and mentioned, "He became one of the 13 captains in our history to lift a major trophy."
Daniel Levy, chairman of Tottenham, remarked, "One of the greatest players ever to wear the Lilywhite shirt, he has provided joy in watching him over the past decade," and added, "He is not only a talented footballer but also an amazing person who has given inspiration and motivation to the club and people around the world."
Levy further noted, "Son has given so much to this club, and we will be forever grateful," and said, "We wish him the greatest luck in the future, and he will always be welcomed as a beloved member of our Tottenham family."
