On the 6th (local time), a shooting incident occurred at Fort Stewart Army Base in Georgia, USA, leaving 5 soldiers injured by gunfire.
According to major foreign media, Sergeant Quenellius Radford, who was serving at the base, opened fire on fellow soldiers that morning, injuring 5 of them.
Currently, all 5 soldiers who were shot are hospitalized, and it is reported that 3 of them are in need of surgery. John Lubas, the public affairs officer at Fort Stewart, said, 'Fortunately, all the injured are in stable condition.'
The assailant, Sergeant Radford, was subdued by other soldiers at the scene and is under investigation while in custody. The motive for the incident remains unknown, and Radford used a personal handgun instead of a military weapon to carry out the attack.
Fort Stewart is located about 64 kilometers southwest of Savannah, Georgia. Following the incident, parts of Fort Stewart and nearby schools were temporarily closed.
