Minister Cho Hyun of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had her first phone call with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son of Vietnam, combining it with a courtesy call.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 6th, Minister Cho held a currency with Minister Son in the afternoon, exchanging views on strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries and international situations.
During the currency, Minister Cho expressed gratitude for the hospitality of the Vietnamese side during the visit of the special envoy delegation led by President Lee Jae-myung last week, and emphasized the need to actively promote high-level exchanges and communication in the future.
Minister Son expressed agreement and conveyed wishes for the success of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, which will be held in Gyeongju later this year, and suggested discussing ways to develop bilateral relations through direct talks in the near future.
