The Donald Trump administration has launched an investigation into the alleged manipulation of the 'Russia Gate' which claimed that Russia interfered in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.
On the 4th (local time), major foreign media reported that the Minister directed a prosecutor from the Federal Prosecutor's Office to investigate the Russia Gate case. The assigned prosecutor is set to review classified materials disclosed by Director General Tulsi Gabbard and submit them to a grand jury, and if the grand jury approves, charges will be filed.
If this case is prosecuted, there are discussions that senior Democratic officials from the Barack Obama administration might be included in the list. On the 1st, the Director General of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Kash Patel, claimed via social media (SNS) that "evidence has emerged that the Clinton campaign attempted to frame President Trump and manipulate the Russian collusion fraud."
The spokesperson for the Ministry explained to Fox News that the Minister has "clear reasons that raise serious concerns" regarding Gabbard's allegations, and that it is necessary to move on to the 'next step.'
Earlier, on the 23rd of last month, Director General Gabbard attended a White House spokesperson's press briefing and announced that the Obama administration manipulated information suggesting that Russia interfered in the 2016 election that President Trump won.
At that time, Director General Gabbard listed the information supporting her claims and said, "We will hand all this material over to the Ministry of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to investigate whether it constitutes a crime," adding, "The evidence we found and disclosed points to former President Obama leading the assessment of information related to Russia's interference in the presidential election."
