Global pop star Justin Timberlake, 44, revealed he has been diagnosed with Lyme disease.
Timberlake noted in a post on social media on the 31st (local time) that he has been fighting several health issues and received the diagnosis of Lyme disease.
He said, "If you have experienced this disease or know someone who has, you know well that living with this condition is mentally and physically debilitating."
He added that it was really shocking when he first received the diagnosis, but at least he could understand why he felt extreme nerve pain or an inexplicable fatigue, or why he felt sick on stage.
He mentioned that he had considered whether to finish the tour earlier than originally planned but ultimately decided to continue with the tour.
He wrapped up his world tour concert, which began in April of last year, in Turkey the day before. He faced criticism for showing a lack of enthusiasm during some performances, such as handing the microphone to the audience while not singing.
Lyme disease is a zoonotic infection caused by pathogens entering the body when a tick bites a person. Some people diagnosed with this condition experience symptoms such as fatigue, pain, and decreased energy.
