U.S. President Donald Trump expressed disappointment to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the 28th (local time). Earlier, President Trump pressured, stating, "If Russia and Ukraine do not reach a ceasefire within 50 days, I will impose a tariff on Russia," and is said to be planning to shorten this period.
President Trump spoke this way while meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at the Turnberry Golf Club in Scotland. President Trump said, "I had many conversations with President Putin," adding, "We thought we had resolved this issue, but Putin suddenly launched rockets at cities like Kyiv and killed many people in nursing homes."
President Trump noted, "I am very disappointed in President Putin," stating, "We need to watch closely and will reduce the 50 days given to him (Putin) to a smaller number." President Trump did not specify how much the deadline would be shortened.
Earlier, President Trump demanded that Russia and Ukraine agree to a peace settlement within 50 days on the 14th. Otherwise, he stated that he would impose severe taxation on Russia and tariffs on countries trading with Russia. This is interpreted as targeting China and India, which purchase Russian oil.
Regarding the war in the Gaza Strip, President Trump stated, "A ceasefire is possible." He added, "The U.S. recently provided $60 million (82.8 billion won) in support," and urged, "Other countries must step up."
