Donald Trump, the President of the United States, said on the 25th (local time) that he would conclude most of the tariff negotiations with trading partners by the 1st of next month, according to Reuters.
On this day, President Trump met with reporters in front of the White House and said the probability of reaching a trade agreement with the European Union (EU) is "50-50". He noted, "Some negotiations will be concluded with the SEOHAN ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION letters."
Earlier, the Trump administration reached tariff agreements with five countries: the United Kingdom, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Japan. Although a meeting between the Ministers of Finance and Trade of Korea and the United States was scheduled for this day in Washington, it was abruptly postponed due to circumstances on the U.S. side.
President Trump said, "We did well with Korea" and "I think we received a lot of respect."
President Trump has stated that he would impose high mutual tariffs on trading partners with whom no tariff agreement has been reached starting from August 1.
