U.S. President Donald Trump hinted at the possibility of additional airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities on the 21st (local time).
President Trump stated on social media "Truth Social," that "Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, said that 'the damage to the Iranian nuclear facilities is very serious and has been destroyed,'" adding, "If necessary, we will do it (the airstrikes) again."
Earlier, Minister Araghchi acknowledged in an interview with Fox News that the uranium enrichment program has been "suspended for now." However, he added, "Uranium enrichment is a matter of accomplishment for our scientists and national pride; we cannot give it up."
President Trump's remarks are interpreted as a warning that if Iran does not abandon its nuclear program, further airstrikes could occur.
Meanwhile, former President Trump criticized CNN for reporting that the damage to Iranian nuclear facilities is limited, calling it "fake news" and demanding, "Apologize to me and the great pilots."
