A recent local survey has revealed that 60% of respondents oppose the tariff policy advocated by U.S. President Donald Trump. There are also analyses indicating that President Trump's approval rating is on the decline.
According to a public opinion poll conducted by CBS News and the polling firm YouGov from Feb. 16 to 18 (local time) involving 2,343 U.S. adults, President Trump's approval rating was reported at 42% on the 20th.
In comparison to February 9, when it was 53%, President Trump's approval rating has dropped by 11 percentage points. Among conservatives, 86% rated President Trump's performance positively, while only 5% of progressives supported him.
By area of responsibility, 40% of respondents supported President Trump's tariff policy, while 60% opposed it. Notably, 61% of respondents indicated that the Trump administration is overly focused on tariff policy. Furthermore, 57% judged that President Trump has no clear plan regarding tariff policy.
Additionally, the inflation area recorded support levels of 36%, while the economy area saw a 40% approval rating. The immigration policy emphasized by President Trump was found to have 44% support.
