The vehicle deliveries of American electric vehicle company Tesla in the second quarter have decreased by about 13% compared to the previous year.
Tesla announced on the 2nd (local time) that it delivered 384,122 vehicles in the second quarter of this year.
This is more than a 10% decline compared to last year's second quarter (443,956 vehicles) and is lower than the expert forecast (387,000 vehicles) compiled by market research firm FactSet.
It is interpreted as a result of intensified market competition due to the low-price offensive from Chinese firms in the global electric vehicle market. Furthermore, it appears that the boycott against Tesla was influenced by CEO Elon Musk's political activities during Donald Trump's administration.
Tesla has seen a decrease in vehicle deliveries for two consecutive quarters compared to the previous year. In the first quarter, deliveries also fell by about 13% compared to the same period last year.
Tesla's stock price has fallen by 26% this year based on the previous day's closing price. It seems that CEO Elon Musk's clashes with President Trump over issues including tax cuts have impacted the decline in stock prices.
