U.S. President Donald Trump said on the 12th that Israel and Iran, which have entered a ceasefire after the war, may soon resume armed conflict.
After attending the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit held in The Hague, Netherlands, on the 25th (local time), President Trump said at a press conference, "Both countries (Israel and Iran) are exhausted and fatigued."
President Trump also noted the possibility of resuming armed conflict, saying, "I think that could happen someday," and added, "It may resume soon." He explained the background for mentioning the possibility of a resumption by stating, "When Iran violated the ceasefire, although not significantly."
On the afternoon of the 23rd of this month (U.S. Eastern time), President Trump announced via the social media platform Truth Social that a ceasefire agreement had been reached between Israel and Iran. However, shortly after the ceasefire took effect, both countries exchanged small-scale attacks.
Meanwhile, President Trump also stated that he would engage in dialogue with Iran next week. He said, "The only thing we will demand is related to the transfer of nuclear issues we previously requested." Regarding the nuclear agreement with Iran, he mentioned, "It could be signed," but added, "I don't think it's necessary."
