Iran has announced a large-scale missile and drone strike against Israel. The attack could begin within hours.
According to Iran's state-run IRNA news agency, on the 17th (local time), Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Ground Forces Commander Kioumars Haidari said, "A fierce attack will intensify with the deployment of new and advanced weapons within the next few hours."
Commander Haidari claimed, "Hundreds of long-range drones with high accuracy and destructive power struck Israel's military facilities and strategic points in occupied areas such as Tel Aviv and Haifa," and noted, "The attack was successful."
Iranian local media also reported that the airstrikes achieved results. The semi-official Tasnim News Agency reported that Israel's intelligence agency Mossad headquarters in Herzliya near Tel Aviv was hit by Iran's missile attack.
IRNA also reported that Israel's Iron Dome air defense system was hacked, resulting in incidents where missiles launched by the Israeli military accidentally struck their own territory. Regarding the warning issued by the Israeli government the previous day, advising against 'entering shelters' due to fake text messages, they claimed it was part of "a successful cyber attack."
