U.S. President Donald Trump expressed sadness over the news of former President Joe Biden's prostate cancer diagnosis, saying he hopes for a speedy recovery.
On the 18th (local time), President Trump posted on his social media (SNS) platform Truth Social, stating, "Melania and I are saddened to hear the news of Joe Biden's recent medical diagnosis," adding, "I send warm regards to Jill (Biden's wife) and the family, and I hope Joe recovers quickly and successfully."
Earlier, the side of former President Biden disclosed the diagnosis of prostate cancer that has metastasized to the bones. The Spokesperson noted, "We are currently reviewing treatment options with the family."
President Trump has publicly criticized former President Biden's cognitive abilities and health during last year's election campaign and since his inauguration this year, mentioning physical flaws. However, he exceptionally left a message of condolence regarding this cancer diagnosis.
Former Vice President Kamala Harris also expressed through SNS X (formerly Twitter) that "We hold President Biden, Mrs. Jill Biden, and the entire family in our hearts and prayers," stating, "Joe is a fighter and will face this challenge with resilience and optimism that he has shown throughout his life and leadership." She added, "I look forward to a full and swift recovery."
