A music producer in Japan lost a sports car purchased with money saved for 10 years in a fire just one hour after taking delivery.
According to reports on the 24th from the UK's The Sun, a white "Ferrari 458 Spider" belonging to music producer Honkon was completely destroyed by fire on a road in the Minato ward of Tokyo. Honkon had saved £220,000 (approximately 418 million won) over 10 years to buy the car, but smoke started to rise from the vehicle just an hour after he began driving.
Honkon immediately pulled the vehicle over to the roadside and evacuated to a safe location, he noted through his social media (SNS). Honkon said, "I was really scared that the car would explode," and added, "I seem to be the only person who has experienced such a problem in Japan."
Honkon was not injured, and the fire from the car was extinguished in about 20 minutes. The Japanese police are currently investigating the exact cause of the fire. It has not been confirmed whether Honkon had automobile insurance.
