The head of the Department of Homeland Security, which plays a role in protecting the United States from terrorism and other threats, had their bag stolen while dining in Washington, D.C.
According to CNN and others on the 21st (local time), Minister Kristi Noem had their bag stolen while dining at a famous hamburger restaurant in Washington, D.C., with their children and grandchildren the previous evening. Closed-circuit television (CCTV) captured a masked white Namsung stealing the minister's bag and quickly fleeing the scene.
Inside the minister's wallet were $3,000 in cash (about 4.3 million won), checks, a Department of Homeland Security access card, a passport, a driver's license, medication, and a cosmetics bag. Bloomberg reported that a government-issued cell phone has been recovered. The Secret Service (SS), responsible for the minister's security, has launched an investigation.
