President Donald Trump has repealed the water pressure regulations for residential showerheads in the United States.
On the 9th (local time), according to The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), President Trump signed an executive order marked with the phrase "Make America's showers great again."
The water pressure regulations for showerheads were introduced during the Barack Obama administration with the aim of conserving water resources.
Although President Trump eased the regulations during his first term, they were reverted back under his successor, President Joe Biden.
While signing the executive order in the Oval Office, President Trump said, "I want to shower well for the sake of my beautiful hair. I need to stand under the showerhead for 15 minutes to get my hair sufficiently wet."
The executive order repealing water pressure limits applies not only to showerheads but also to faucets and dishwashers.
President Trump's position is that the regulations from the Obama and Biden administrations harmed consumers.
In the executive order, President Trump characterized the water pressure regulations as "government interference" and stated, "The federal government should not interfere with what kind of showerheads Americans who pay their water bills can use."
