Jens Stoltenberg, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secretary General, plans to visit Japan from the 8th to the 10th.
According to Jiji Press on the 3rd, the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Secretary General Stoltenberg will visit Japan for three days from the 8th to the 10th and will meet with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba. This will be the first in-person meeting between Secretary General Stoltenberg, who took office in October last year, and Prime Minister Ishiba in approximately two years.
The two sides are expected to discuss the situation in Ukraine and East Asia. Jiji Press reported that "amid concerns over the Trump administration's disregard for allies, efforts will be made to strengthen the relationship between Japan and NATO."
