According to reports from the New York Times (NYT) and others on the 27th (local time), local police arrested Paul Hyun Kim (36) on the 18th for allegedly setting fire to at least five vehicles at a Tesla collision repair center in Las Vegas.

According to police, Mr. Kim damaged surveillance cameras inside the repair center with a gun he brought in and set fire to vehicles using Molotov cocktails. As a result, at least two Teslas were engulfed in flames, and a total of five vehicles were damaged.

Mr. Kim faces charges of property destruction, arson, and possession of a Molotov cocktail. It is also reported that after committing the arson, he spray-painted the phrase "Resist" on the repair center's front door.

Police stated that Mr. Kim's DNA matched DNA samples collected from the scene, and they searched two vehicles and an apartment linked to him, discovering multiple firearms, parts, and ammunition. They also confirmed a bag with residues of the same spray paint used at the scene.

The NYT reported, citing information from the U.S. Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security, that "the incident appears to have been carried out by a sole perpetrator."
