Jeff Bezos, known as the founder of Amazon and a billionaire, and his fiancée Lauren Sanchez are set to hold their wedding in Venice, Italy, in June.
With many global celebrities expected to attend, Venice is in a festive mood ahead of the grand wedding.
According to reports from the British daily The Times and The Telegraph on the 27th (local time), the wedding of Bezos and Sanchez will be held over three days starting June 24th, with about 250 guests invited.
The wedding is expected to be attended by Microsoft founder Bill Gates, daughter of U.S. President Donald Trump, Ivanka, and her husband Jared Kushner. Also reported to be on the guest list are television personality Oprah Winfrey, celebrity KT Kardashian, pop singer Katy Perry, and actor Orlando Bloom.
Bezos is said to have reserved all the water taxis in Venice for the guests. He has also reportedly booked at least four luxury hotels, including GRITEE Palace, Danielli, and Belmond Hotel Cipriani.
Luigi Brugnaro, the mayor of Venice, expressed optimism, stating, "Their wedding will bring hundreds of thousands of euros in economic benefits to Venice."
The British Telegraph reported that this wedding will be the largest since George Clooney's in Venice.
George Clooney married human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin in Venice in 2014. The wedding expense reportedly exceeded $13 million (approximately 19.1 billion won).
Bezos is not only the founder of Amazon but also the owner of the space exploration corporation Blue Origin and the influential American daily, The Washington Post (WP), making him the second richest person in the world according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, just behind Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla.
He concluded his 25-year marriage to his first wife, MacKenzie Scott, when they divorced in 2019. The couple has four children.
Lauren Sanchez, a former broadcast journalist and entrepreneur, also divorced her ex-husband Patrick Whitesell in 2019. Whitesell is the chairman of Hollywood's major talent agency WME, and they have two children together.
