According to The New York Times (NYT), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents searched the Columbia University dormitory where Jung Mo (21), a student majoring in English and gender studies, resides on the 13th.

NYT reported that the search warrant cited provisions related to laws punishing individuals who hide or assist foreigners unlawfully residing in the U.S. Jung, a junior at Columbia University, has participated in pro-Palestinian protests since last year.

Jung was arrested during a pro-Palestinian protest on the 5th and was later released. Her attorney claims that she has never represented the student protesters in negotiations or taken on any leadership role during the protests.

Jung immigrated to the U.S. with her parents at the age of seven and is reported to be legally residing in the U.S. as a permanent resident. On that day, she filed a lawsuit against President Donald Trump and the administration to prevent deportation, according to NYT.
