President Yoon Suk Yeol reportedly urged a supporter, who was on a hunger strike in front of the Constitutional Court, to end the strike during a conversation on the 25th.
According to lawyer Seok Dong-hyun of President Yoon's legal team, President Yoon spoke with Jeon Ji-young, the Secretary General of the National Justice Practice Alliance, who was on a hunger strike. He noted during the conversation, “I appreciate your noble intentions after a long hunger strike, and above all, what matters most is your health, Jeon Ji-young,” adding, “I’m also concerned about the health of other citizens and youths who are spending the night in front of the Constitutional Court.”
In response, the former Secretary General said, “I drew strength from the President's concern for my health,” and stated, “I will accept the President's and the youths' advice and end the hunger strike,” according to lawyer Seok.
President Yoon, in response to the former Secretary General's remarks, said, “Please don't worry and focus on recovering your health,” and added, “I will do everything possible together with the people to establish freedom, human rights, and the rule of law.”
