The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on the 24th that Acting Prime Minister Han Duck-soo had explained the situation of resuming his duties following the Constitutional Court's decision to dismiss the impeachment motion to the ambassadors of the United States, China, and Japan.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, First Vice Minister Kim Hong-kyun spoke with Joseph Yun, Acting U.S. Ambassador, on the morning of the same day, explaining the dismissal of the impeachment motion against Acting Prime Minister Han and said that the South Korea-U.S. alliance should remain strong and that cooperation between the two countries should be enhanced.
In response, Acting Ambassador Yun emphasized that there is no change in the United States' firm support for the strong South Korea-U.S. alliance and suggested maintaining close communication moving forward, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Deputy Minister Jeong Byeong-won spoke with Daisuke Kida, Deputy Chief of Mission of Japan to South Korea, and Dai Bing, Chinese Ambassador to South Korea, stating that cooperation should be closely coordinated to ensure that relations with both countries continue to develop without change.
