Following former U.S. President Joe Biden, former Vice President Kamala Harris is also reported to have signed a contract with a major Hollywood entertainment agency.
On the 18th (local time), Fox News and U.S. entertainment media Variety reported that former Vice President Harris has signed a contract with the talent agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA).
Variety reported that the contract between former Vice President Harris and CAA will focus on all areas related to speeches and publishing, and they are expected to closely cooperate on plans for after her tenure.
On the 3rd, President Biden also signed a contract with the same agency. President Biden had previously entered into a contract with CAA after his vice presidency from 2017 to 2020.
Following that contract, CAA was responsible for promoting President Biden's memoir, "Promise Me, Dad," published in 2017. This book, which deals with the death of his eldest son, Beau, became a bestseller and is viewed as a stepping stone for his 2020 presidential run.
In the past, former U.S. President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton also signed contracts with CAA.
CAA typically signs contracts with famous movie stars or A-list celebrities, but it is not uncommon for them to work with politicians or social movement organizations.
Former Vice President Harris has remained relatively low-profile since leaving office on the 20th of last month.
Fox News also reported rumors that former Vice President Harris may run for California governor. She is set to receive a chair award at the NAACP Image Awards on the 22nd.
