According to local media in France, including Le Monde, the sculpture 'The Age of Maturity' by Camille Claudel was sold for 3.1 million euros (approximately 4.7 billion won) during an auction held at the Orleans auction house south of Paris on the 16th.

According to auctioneer Mathieu Simon, this artwork, discovered by chance in a vacant APT. near the Eiffel Tower last September, had been abandoned for 15 years.

'The Age of Maturity' is a sculpture created by Claudel after her separation from Auguste Rodin. It depicts an old man being led away by an old woman and a young woman kneeling and pleading with him.

Claudel was a female sculptor in France at the end of the 19th century. Few of Claudel's works remain today. It is known that before her brother placed her in a mental institution in 1913, Claudel herself destroyed many of her works.
