Singer Koo Jun-yeob's mother-in-law has expressed her determination to protect the inheritance of her late daughter, Seohuiwon (Shu Shiyuan), who suddenly passed away due to pneumonia, according to reports from Taiwanese media, including China Times.
According to China Times, Huang Chun-mei, Koo Jun-yeob's mother-in-law, posted on her social networking service (SNS) that she "does not believe justice cannot be restored. I will go to war."
China Times interpreted this as Huang Chun-mei declaring war against Wang Shaobi, Seohuiwon's ex-husband, while also suggesting her intent to protect the family's rights and Seohuiwon's inheritance.
According to China Times, Wang Shaobi's debts reportedly exceed 200 billion won. Consequently, Taiwanese media have consistently raised suspicions that Wang Shaobi covets Seohuiwon's inheritance.
Previously, Wang Shaobi reportedly inflated the sales of his owned corporation, Chaojiangnan, before selling it to a private equity fund at a high price, resulting in a compensation ruling of about 200 billion won.
Additionally, Wang Shaobi caused controversy by claiming on his SNS account that he bore the cost of the chartered flight used for Seohuiwon's remains to return home.
Meanwhile, the estimated scale of Seohuiwon's inheritance is 600 million yuan (approximately 120 billion won). Koo Jun-yeob has stated on his SNS that "I plan to give all the inheritance to my mother-in-law."
