Elon Musk, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Tesla and head of the government efficiency department (DOGE), a federal government advisory body in the United States, has faced criticism from Grimes, the biological mother of his child and Musk's former girlfriend, who stated, "This is unacceptable behavior," regarding the press conference about their son.
According to foreign media such as The New York Times (NYT) on the 13th, Grimes, a singer from Canada, expressed her opposition to Musk revealing their son to the media, stating in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on the 11th (local time), "He (the son) should not be in such a public setting."
This was a reply to another X user who posted, "Lil X (the name of Musk and Grimes' son) was very well-mannered today. You raised him well," where Grimes wrote, "I didn't see it, but thanks for letting me know," adding a "Sigh."
On the 11th, amid allegations of abuse of power and conflicts of interest at DOGE, CEO Musk directly faced the controversy by bringing his 5-year-old son, "X Æ A-Xii," to the White House. Notably, he was seen carrying his son on his shoulders while former President Donald Trump was watching.
CEO Musk has often brought his son to public places, but Grimes has reportedly opposed such actions, considering the child's safety. She previously commented, "I'm desperate to resolve this, and it's a personal tragedy for me."
Grimes dated Musk for about three years from 2018 to 2021, during which she gave birth to their first son, X Æ A-Xii, in May 2020. Additionally, at the end of 2021, they had a daughter named "Exa Dark Sideræl" through a surrogate.
After breaking up with Musk in 2022, she also had another son through a surrogate, named "Techno Mechanicus." Grimes engaged in a custody battle in 2023, but it is currently reported that Musk is raising all the children.
