A collision occurred between Japan Airlines and Delta Airlines passenger planes on the runway at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in Washington state.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on the 5th (local time), around 10:17 a.m., one of the wings of a Japan Airlines Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, moving on the runway at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, struck the tail of a Delta Airlines Boeing 737-800 waiting for takeoff.
The Boeing 737-800 was in the process of de-icing before departing for Puerto Rico. Authorities noted that there were no injuries reported as a result of the accident. The Delta Airlines flight had 142 passengers on board, while the number of passengers on the Japan Airlines flight was not disclosed.
However, some flights were delayed due to the incident.
Meanwhile, following incidents in Korea, airplane accidents have also been occurring in the United States. On the 29th of last month, a collision between a passenger plane and a helicopter in Washington, D.C., resulted in the deaths of all 67 occupants. Two days later, a small aircraft crashed in Philadelphia, killing all on board, including seven people.
